Mapping data is a critical skill for transit agencies to make important planning decisions. The National Center for Applied Transit Technology (N-CATT) aims to provide small-urban and rural transit providers with the basic skills to map the data they need in a way that helps them make informed decisions. This workshop will be broken into three 2-hour sessions on separate topics: Exploring the 2020 Census, Using GIS to Advance Equity, and How to Create Compelling Transit Maps.
This session will explore advanced design techniques and help attendees create multivariate maps. Attendees will learn about curating basemaps, advanced design principles, feature blending, bivariate choropleths, and developing map series.
