RFIs as Tools in Transit Technology Procurements

  • Date: June 6, 2022

When looking for new technologies, transit agencies can benefit from Requests for Information (RFIs) at the beginning of their procurement processes. RFIs can be an important tool for gathering information that helps an agency make a decision on its procurement strategy. Based on feedback from vendors, can use that information to elect certain strategies or processes over others to accomplish their goals. In addition, industry peers can also reply to RFIs, sharing their experience with the subject, and RFIs can be shared with peers so that the industry as a whole becomes better informed.
